Apple iPhone 8 Will Have Samsung AMOLED Display: Reports

We all are aware that Apple will release the iPhone 8 next year. And that will come with a display size of 5.8 inches with AMOLED panel display. Now, Samsung is the exclusive manufacturer of AMOLED displays. The reports also say, the 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch phones will not get the AMOLED display from Samsung. 20 million displays are possible for Samsung in every month at maximum.

Considering the production timings, it is essential for Samsung to create a significant number of new units for this launch. The Samsung displays will release in 2017. For the iPhone 8 devices, Apple is also trying to launch a 5 inch display model.

5 and 5.8 inches iPhone 8

One chance is, the rumored iPhones of both 5 and 5.8 inches will get the premium bezel-less design. Apple will also upgrade the annual iPhone cycle with the three models to debut in 2017. Samsung will supply the AMOLED displays of iPhone 8. Other vendors include the Nissha Printing. They will provide the touch sensors, the TPK Holding and this can also win a contract to bond the sensors to the AMOLED display.

Upgrades for iPhone 7 and 7s

The volumes of production of iPhone 8 will start in March 2017. The output time is in May or June. And this will mark Apple’s annual typical September release. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he believes that the iPhone 8 sales in late 2017 will come in OLED displays. And the key components like the Touch ID fingerprint sensor and the earpiece are designed within the iPhone 8 handsets. It will mark the 10th Anniversary of Apple smartphones.

But Kuo also believes that the available areas of the 5.8 size smartphones will be smaller. It is around 5.1 to 5.2 inches of usable area. But still, Apple will buy the flexible OLED panels for 5.8 inches. It is confirmed. And considering the iPhone updates for iPhone 7, they will have LCD panels for both 4.7 and 5.5 inches. And the 7s versions will come in rear glass casing instead of metal.
