Apple has plans of refreshing the MacBooks range by the 2nd quarter of this year. As per a new report, this company based in Cupertino has plans of launching some 15 inch and 13 inch models.
The report says that the forthcoming 15 inch and 13 inch MacBooks would offer same design as that of 12 inches, the launch of which was seen last year. The latest models would be thin as compared to the MacBook Air range. Based on that, speculations are made that this new one would feature only 1 USB-C port. The report also states that Lenovo, Dell, and Asus too have plans of launching the ultra-thin notebooks around that time.
It is unclear whether Apple has plans of launching this MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. Reports earlier suggested that the entire Mac Line would be refreshed. However, these devices are speculated to be powered by ‘SkyLake’ core processor, the 6th generation processor. Currently, SkyLake processor isn’t utilized by Apple in its notebook lineup.
Things to know
This processor improves power efficiency and helps Apple in further cutting down the thickness. The Skylake processor powers several hybrid devices and notebooks like Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book.
As per the reports, around 20.38 Mac products were shipped by Apple in the year 2015, and it had captured a growth of around 4.08%
MacBook Air is coming out in 2017. Earlier it was believed that it would come out between March and May, but since there is no such hint from the company, we might have to wait some more. Meanwhile, Apple quietly loaded its iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and 9.7 inch iPad. It is unclear if the MacBook Air series will ever update again. Some experts believe that it might get discontinued.
