Asus launched the brand new Asus Zenfone AR with 8GB RAM along with Google’s Tango AR reality program at the CES 2017. The phone will have Daydream Virtual Reality software. With the launch of Asus Zenfone AR, the company also launched Zenfone 3 Zoom camera smartphone with the 5000mAh battery.
The Zenfone AR will come in different variants, but it is confirmed by the corporation that one version will have 6GB RAM. Let us have a quick look at the details, specs and features of both Asus Zenfone AR and Zenfone 3.
Asus Zenfone AR- design and display
The Zenfone AR is created in machine vision with a camera and sensor that offers motion tracking, depth perception, and area learning. Unlike other smartphones, this one has got a fingerprint scanner at the front that is embedded in the home button. The screen is 5.7 inch Super AMOLED QHD with a resolution of 1440*2560 pixels. The company also says that Asus Zenfone AR will have 79% screen to body ratio.
The Zenfone AR is a pretty high-end smartphone that has got Qualcomm Snapdragon quad core 821 processor. The processor is good, but now that we know about the release of Qualcomm 835 processor, this 821 version is a bit outdated. At the event, the company confirmed that it would have exclusive Asus Zen UI with VR 360 degree app on Photo Collage, Gallery, and ZenCircle.
The other specifications also include a storage of 256 GB inbuilt storage that is expandable with a microSD card. You will also have the hybrid dual SIM slot (both Micro and Nano) configuration. The battery backup is 3300mAh. It is pretty less considering the display size and specs of this smartphone. It will have a USB 2.0 port type C, a Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity.
Camera of Asus Zenfone AR
Asus Zenfone AR will have a 23MP camera with Sony IMX318 module along TriTech+autofocus system. The camera is just brilliant. It also has PDAF, second gen laser focus and continuous focus. The rear camera also supports OIS and 3-axis electronic image stabilization for video recording. This one also supports 4k video recording. For the selfie, you will have an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide angle lens.
The Zenfone AR comes with Android 7.0 Nougat. It will release in the second quarter of 2017 when the company will announce the price of it. The phone has got vapor cooling system for that prevents the overheating issue. The company is yet to release more specs and features after the official announcement of a price.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom
The Zenfone 3 Zoom is one of thinnest and lightest phone available in the market. It has got some highlighting features to boast. And some people are also of the opinion that Zenfone 3 is much better than the Zenfone AR in some aspects. Here are the details of Zenfone 3.
Design and display
The phone is light in weight, and it weighs only 170 grams. The phone is 5.5 inch in length and 7.9mm in thickness. The screen has got a full HD display of 1080*1920 pixels. The display is AMOLED with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to prevent from any drop and scratch issues. Just like the Zenfone AR the company is yet to release more features of the display and design of the phone about the material used.
Considering the specs, the phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Octacore 625 processor. The storage is 128 GB initially, and it can be increased with a microSD card. Also, the phone comes with a 4GB RAM. Apart from that, the company did not reveal much more specs. The phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallows.
The camera of this phone has similar features like the Asus Zenfone AR. But it is less in megapixels. It has got a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX362 sensor, f/1.7. It has got the dual primary camera. The other main camera features 2.3X optical zoom that allows full 12X zoom.

Like the Zenfone AR, it also has the TriTech+autofocus feature, the dual PDAF, 4-axis OIS and 3-axis EIS. For the selfie, the Zenfone 3 has got a 13MP camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and the screen flash feature.
It is one of the best features of the Zenfone 3. The battery is just brilliant. It is equivalent to a power bank with which you can also charge other smartphones. The total battery capacity of this smartphone is 5000 mAh. The Zenfone 3 Zoom will be available in February and the price for different variants will also be announced in a local release.
