Coolpad today launched their much-awaited new handset the beast – it’s called the Coolpad Note 5.The phone is a successor to the company’s Note series and has a metal unibody design. The dual-SIM phone comes with a 2.5D-curved glass. The company has been teasing the smartphone for quite some time on social media along with a tagline — “Beast among the best.”
The Coolpad Note 5 features a 5.5-inch FHD display with a 1920×1080 resolution (with 401ppi pixel density). The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Octa-core processor and an Adreno 405GPU. It comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM (expandable to 64GB).
The Coolpad Note 5 bears a 13-megapixel real camera with a dual-LED flash. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera with its LED flash module and a smart beautification feature. The smartphone bears 32GB of inbuilt storage, expandable via MicroSD card (up to 64GB) – in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration, which means users can either use a second SIM card or a MicroSD card.
Additional features of this phone are a fingerprint scanner on the back panel that’s touted to unlock the smartphone in 0.5 seconds. It also supports gesture shortcuts, as well as support for both left and right-hand input. The company notes that the Coolpad Note 5 supports all 4G bands in India, with 4G VoLTE support as well.
The Coolpad Note 5 sports a Dual Space system that was first seen on the Coolpad Max. Therefore, it enables users to have two accounts on WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and other apps on the same phone. The handset is 8.85mm thick and weight with battery is 173 grams. This smartphone can shoot 1080p videos. Furthermore, Battery capacity is also immersive – a 4010mAh non-removable.

We aim to cross the 4 million handsets mark by March next year. We are trying to be the top 5 players in the Global and Indian smartphone market.”
Coolpad has also announced that it plans to sell over four million units of phones in India in the next two years. Coolpad Note 5 will be exclusively available on Amazon India at a price of Rs.10999. It will be available in variants of royal gold, space gray starting October 2016 via open sale from October 18.
