Delhi Will Host Indian Mobile Congress From 27th September

The Mobile World Congress was held recently and the major tech giants from all parts of the world participated in MWC 2017. Barcelona organized it. Now, India decided to host its own Indian Mobile Congress. It will start from this year at Delhi from 27th September and the show will continue for three consecutive days.

India is expecting the participation of at least 8-10 countries in the Indian Mobile Congress. Cellular Operators’ Association of India (COAI) has taken the full initiative to organize the event. The Telecommunications and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will also help COAI in organizing the event.

Let us get down to some details of the Indian Mobile Congress. The whole event will be held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi on a total budget of 15 crores. According to COAI, they felt India too needs to organize an event like the Mobile Congress. The reason is, in the west, you saw Barcelona hosting the Mobile World Congress. In the East, Shanghai holds the Mobile World Congress.

But there is nothing of such event in the South-East Asia. The event will complete that for South-East Asia. The event will be a major flagship event for India with the participation of 8-10 countries. According to the COAI Director, Rajas S Mathews, countries like Sweden, UK and Israel confirmed their presence. At present they are also in conversation with US and Canada for participation.

Such kind of event is taking place for the first time in India. And this is why they are preparing for the last six months. The event is for business to consumer and business to government. Thus, they are going to arrange free entry for the public for the last day. In the three-day event, there will be exhibitions, award sessions, and conclaves.

They have also set up an Advisory Committee for the exhibition which will occupy 20000 square meters of space with 300 stalls. The Advisory Committee is led by Secretary of Department of Telecom Aruna Sundarajan, the Secretary of Ministry of Electronics. The media and other associations will also be there.

The event will give a 360-degree view of the industry where people from the core industry, original equipment manufacturers, and handset manufacturers, among others, will participate[/quotes].

Organizations like National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), the Internet and Mobile Association of India, the Internet Service Provider’s Association and Indian Cellular Organization will also participate in the event. Apart from the telecom service providers, some startups, AI, and robotics companies will also participate in the event.

The event is organized in MWC Barcelona format. The K&D Communications, who is the organizer of Vibrant Gujrat, is the event manager of this project. The Indian Mobile Congress is also discussing the event with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to participate.
