Andy Rubin, the creator of Android, promised to bring smartphones which will be entirely different from the present day smartphones. In an online post, he mentioned launching a high-quality Essential Phone which comes with a lot of accessories. You can have a 360- degree camera which is attached magnetically.

The Essential Phone will ship the US in the next 30 days. You will get it at a price of $699 and the 360-camera at an additional price of $50. The objective of Rubin is to create products in 21st Century mindset. He wants people to have the freedom to decide what apps and products they want to use.

Essential Phone will get a digital assistant

He has made the Essential Phone very simple. He used premium materials and updated accessories so that it does not become obsolete every year. Google bought Android in 2005, and since then, the company is making the different version of Android. Android is powering most of the smartphones on planet earth.

Rubin left Google three years ago and launched his fund devoted hardware tech startup. Essential Phone is the first gadget of that hardware tech startup. On 30th May, he showed this phone in a stage interview in Code Conference in California. He also mentioned the company is working on a digital assistant just like Google Home or Amazon Echo.

The Essential company is also working on an “Ambient OS” which will power the home assistant. The objective of this Ambient OS is to interact with a lot of smart home appliances irrespective of the company. The Essential Phone and Home will have their own AI, assistants.

He also said that he might merge the assistants like Google Assistant, Alexa, Cortana and even Siri. If the companies agree to make their Assistant compatible with the Ambient OS for Essential Home, Rubin will also look forward to merging with them. Ambient OS will be an open source OS.

A solution for Android Upgrades

Even Apple is successful in upgrading only 60-70% of devices. Rubin has a solution for that, but he didn’t discuss what exactly the solution was.
