After months of waiting, Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is finally here. Although the key specifications have been announced, the prices haven’t been revealed. We guess the price for S8 Plus shall be somewhere close to Rs. 55,000 ($850 roughly). Both Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are faster, smarter and have better chipsets. But today we will talk about the features of S8 Plus.
Galaxy S8 Plus Design and Build
Coming to its features, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus might be the biggest phone you’d ever consider buying it. Its screen is 6.2-inches long, and it feels like a Note in your hands. The infinity curved screen is one of its kinds. The bezel-devoid face looks, unlike anything we have seen before which is impressive.
The 2660 x 1440 resolution promises to deliver a high-quality resolution. We hope it also has a better sunlight legibility. Samsung says that this is the first phone ever to feature Mobile HDR Premium.
Galaxy S8 Plus Specs
It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory, which of course is expandable by a microSD slot. This part of the feature is same as Galaxy S8. Both the phones shall feature Android 7.0 Nougat, according to Samsung.
Since the size is humongous, we have to look at the battery as well. Samsung has released this with only 3500 mAh battery – the regular phablets in the market feature at least a 3700 or 4000 mAh capacity. But we know that Samsung’s battery issue is a major one. Even S7 Edge did not deliver a good battery performance. We only hope that Samsung does not repeat the same with S8 Plus. The company already has a lot of clearing up to do after the Note 7 refurbishing mess.
In India, the phone will launch with Exynos Processor. Depending on where you are it will feature Snapdragon 835. Rest of the features will remain the same. The camera too features 12MP on the rear end and 8MP on the front.
Galaxy S8 Plus Analysis
The display is good but doesn’t expect a 4K resolution already. Our guess is that the phone will feature a 2K resolution and the 4K resolution won’t come until Note 8 is released. The only improvement the selfie camera has is that now it has a wider aperture of f/1.7. More features would have been welcome, but this feature is not bad.
One of the best things about this phone is that it has redefined how a phone should look like. Samsung might as well have a phone of the year, and we are saying this even though it’s just March. Also, Samsung announced that it is the first phone to come with Bluetooth 5.0. 4G LTE is available with Gigabit LTE speeds – another feature which is exclusive to this phone.
Samsung has a lot to live up to. Whether S8 Plus beats Apple and Google, is something we can only judge once the phone comes into our hands. Until then, we will wait patiently.
