The Gionee M2017 is officially launched, and it packs some impressive specs that are not available with any smartphones till date. The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and a battery capacity of 7000 mAh. The main USP of this phone is its RAM and battery capacity. It has achieved such huge battery backup with two 3500 mAh battery units. The way in which Gionee managed to put those two batteries in a single phone is not clear yet. But it works in a similar way how the portable battery pack takes over when the primary battery is drained.
Design and specs of Gionee M2017
Speaking of the build and design of the phone, the Gionee M2017 sports a metal body with a leather material on its back. The handset has got a 5.7-inch curved display design with AMOLED display. There is a QHD resolution with a pixel density of 2560*1440 pixels. You will also get the sapphire glass protection for extra scratch resistance.
If you check out the specs, the phone is 4G devices with a midrange processor. The Gionee M2017 comes with a 64 bit Octa core Snapdragon 653 processor with high-end sidekicks. There is a separate graphics processor with Adreno 510 graphics and the 6GB RAM. You will get a massive storage facility of 128GB or 256GB with dual SIM support.
Camera and additional features
The camera is a good one with 12 and 13 megapixels as a primary camera, and you will also get an 8Mp camera as a selfie. The handset will run on Android 6.0 marshmallows, and it will also feature the Gionee Amigo OS 3.5. The Gionee M2017 comes with a fingerprint scanner just below the display. The battery capacity is 7000 mAh as mentioned and it also comes with a smart power management system. It can deliver up to more than 25 hours of continuous video playback. The standby time is 915 hours on a single charge. The Phone also comes with a Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 facility which allows fast charging.
Gionee M2017 two editions
There are two versions available. The M2017 Gold and M2017 Black. These are the two versions in the market. The standard model cost is Rs 6999 Yuan. It is around $1007. You can also opt for a more luxurious version of Italian custom alligator leather model that costs 16999 Yuan, which is around $2446. These prices are only for 128GB models. The price for 256GB models is not clear yet. The Gionee M2017 is officially launched in China, but the company didn’t offer any details on when the handset might reach the market.
One major con
A major drawback is this phone does not come with a headphone jack either. It indicates that it is following the trend that Apple started with iPhone 7. And the Gionee M2017 does not have a MicroSD slot either. But that may not be a problem because the phone has 128GB of storage space.
