Earlier today, in New Delhi, [highlight] Lenovo [/highlight] launched the Z2 Plus at a price of Rs.17999. It is the second iteration of Lenovo’s Zuk series in India. It will be available in two variants, one will be a 3GB+32GB variant, which is only available in India, and another one is 4GB+64GB variant, which will cost Rs.19999.
In terms of design, the Z2 Plus has a Fiber Glass Frame design with metal edges running all around the phone. Lenovo calls it ‘Metal Insert Roll Cage’ design. Front and back of the phone are covered with 2.5D Curved Glass. It has a 5-inch Full HD LTPS IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 441ppi. The display is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Lenovo, this time, ditched the Cyanogen launcher from the Lenovo Z2 Plus and instead launch with the Google Now launcher, which will give a Vanilla Android Experience. There is a new software called U Health app. This app can track steps, burnt calories using the sensors of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. The smartphone also has a pedometer so that it can track your steps more accurately.
Under the hood, the quad-core Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset is the powerhouse of the phone. You also get Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage. It does not support MicroSD card. The Lenovo’s Z2 Plus is a dual SIM phone that supports both 4G LTE and VoLTE, which means your JIO SIM, can work without any issues. It is powered by a non-removable 3500mAh Li-Po Battery and it supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. The phone is using USB-C type port for charging. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack.
The camera department of Zuk series hasn’t been that popular with its predecessor. But from this year’s model, we can expect a better camera output from Z2 Plus. Lenovo Z2 Plus comes with a 13MP rear-facing snapper with a LED flash. The rear camera features f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, 1/2.6 inch sensor size, Geo-tagging, HDR, and Panorama. It can record videos in 2160p at 30fps. Z2 Plus has an 8MP front-facing snapper with f/2.0 aperture for a good low light selfie.
