LG is going to release the latest LG V20 in India today. And it is expected to be at a price of Rs 50000-54000. This latest smartphone could turn up the tide in India for LG. But at this price range, we are expecting one hell of a smartphone. So what is it going to offer? Its previous version LG V10 didn’t get a chance to release in India.
The phone received good appreciation after its release in San Francisco on September 6. The company sees real potential for LG V20 in India. LG V20 is landing in India almost after two months of sale in US and Canada. In the US LG managed to sell 200000 units in just ten days after the launch.

Speaking of the screen size, the LG V20 offer 5.7-inch QHD IPS display. It has a resolution of 2560*1440 pixels. The new smartphone will also offer a secondary screen. The secondary screen will be 2.1 inches. It has got a resolution of 1024*160 pixels. The secondary screen also has larger font size and the better software support. The secondary display works as the ticker. It offers access to notifications and pinned apps. You can send quick replies and share information through the secondary screen. The QHD display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 with a pixel density of 513PPI. The phone is available in three colors, Silver, Pink and Titan. But a disappointing fact is, in this price range LG could provide a full HD display.
Storage and camera of LG V20
The LG V20 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The processor is clocked at 2.15 GHz. It features a 4GB RAM with 32/64 GB Internal memory. The expandable storage capacity is 2TB. For the 64 GB internal memory version, the price is Rs 54000.
You will get a dual camera set up. On the rear, a 16MP F/1.8 camera is present along with an 8MP F/2.4 wide angle camera. It offers 135- degree view. You get a 5MP front facing shooter with F1.9. It gives you a 120-degree wide angle. You can capture more people in just a single frame. The 16MP shooter comes with Optical Image Stabilization. This one comes with Qualcomm’s Steady Record 2.0. It has Electronic Image stabilization too. The LG V20 uses optical stabilized Sony IMX298 image sensor. For the video recording, it uses a Low Cut Filter (LCF). It removes the unwanted background noise. Without a doubt, it offers one of the best cameras in smartphones available in the market.
Extra specifications and features
The phone comes with Android 7.0 Nougat. It has a 3200 Mah removable battery. The phone offers you a USB Type C and is also compatible with Quick Charge 3.0. It is not sure whether you are getting a fingerprint scanner on its back or not. The LG V20 features a 32 bit Hi-Fi “Quad DAC” configuration in 3.5 mm audio jack. In simple terms, the Quad DAC will offer better sound quality by headphones. The LG V20 comes with a pack of B&O ear buds for the early buyers.
The phone boasts Hybrid Auto-Focus. It puts laser detection AF, Phase detection AF and Contrast AF for both photos and videos. You have a customized button to remove the back cover. LG is in desperate need of a big hit. But right now it cannot be said whether the V20 is going to be a success. The competitors like Google and Samsung is working hard to capture the market. The other new entrants Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, and OnePLus, have started playing their cards.
