Moto G5 and G5 Plus is launched in India. In the MWC 2017, Lenovo already announced the launch of Moto G5 and G5 plus. It will launch in India at an event on March 15th, 2017. The company has already started giving the invites to the press and the media.
One important thing is the invites do not mention whether the smaller version of Moto G5 will also launch in that event. Motorola announced this device with lots of new features. Technically speaking, the device will offer the most advanced 12 MP rear camera with dual autofocus, 4K recording facility, and dual LED flash and f/1.7 aperture.
What makes Moto G5 and G5 plus a unique one?
The two new Motorola smartphones will get a brand new design and look. It will come with a metal chassis, and the circular camera frame will be there at the back. The best feature of these two phones is both Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will add a lot of new features yet the price range will remain same.
Now, this can interest a lot of customers. It is a good strategy from Motorola. The Motorola mobiles offer good competition when it comes to specifications with Samsung, LG, Nokia or other mobiles. The best part of Motorola devices is their stock Android.
Specifications of Moto G5
Regarding the specifications, the Moto G5 will have a full HD display. It has got a 5 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1080*1920 pixels. The G5 is powered by 1.4GHz Snapdragon 430 processor with a 2GB or a 3GB RAM. The inbuilt storage facility is 16GB or 32GB.
You can expand the storage up to 128GB with a microSD card. There is a 2800mAh battery, and it is removable. The battery supports fast charging facility. For the camera, as we already mentioned the phone has got 13MP primary camera with PDAF. There is a 5MP secondary camera for the selfies.
Specs of Moto G5 Plus
Speaking of the specifications of the Moto G5 Plus, the phone can easily beat the high range Samsung or Nokia phones. The G5 Plus comes with a 5.2 inches full HD display that has a resolution of 1080*1920 pixels. There is a 2 GHz Snapdragon 625 Octa core processor. The RAM is variable with 2GB, 3GB and 4GB variants depending on the model you choose. The inbuilt storage capacity is 32GB or 64GB.
You can also increase the storage capacity of an external microSD card up to 128GB. The battery capacity of Moto G5 plus is 3000 mAh. It is just perfect for a 5.2-inch device with full HD. Even with heavy usage, the battery should support at least 14-15 hours backup. There is a turbocharging facility available for which will offer you with 6 hours of battery backup in just 15 minutes.
The price for Moto G5 is roughly around Rs 14400 for the 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory variant. The price for Moto G5 Plus is Rs 15300 for 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage option. And the price for 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory is not yet announced.
So basically Motorola kept the price range medium and yet the specifications are pretty high end. Now, it will draw a tough competition to other contenders like Samsung and Nokia. For the mid range, you have the Moto G5 and G5 plus. For high range competition with Samsung and Nokia, Moto Z is already there.
The additional features for Moto G5 and G5 plus
These include a fingerprint scanner for both the G5 and G5 plus devices. There are Moto actions like display, twist, gesture and One Button Nav mode. The One Button Nav mode will let the users navigate through the interface with swipes on a fingerprint scanner. It is a useful feature as the one-handed mode for Moto G5 plus. Both the devices will also run on latest Android Nougat 7.0.
