MWC 2017: Smartphones You Should Watch Out For This Month

Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the biggest platform for mobile phone launches. It takes place in Barcelona, Spain nowadays. Apart from cell phones a lot of tablets and smart watches are launched in this event.

It is one of the most important events tech companies watch out for. So, which are the biggest smartphones launching at MWC 2017 this month? Let’s find out.

1. Nokia P1

Nokia has teased the media saying it will make some announcement on 26th February. Fans are hoping it would be the announcement for the release of Nokia P1. However, the flagship hasn’t confirmed anything yet. The phone is said to cost around $950 (Rs. 67000 approx) upon its release. Going by the past trend, it seems like P1 will be a China only launch. There is no word on when it will come to the other regions.

2. Moto G5

Moto G4 Plus is already old now. Motorola is all set to release its next best in the high mid-range price in MWC 2017. The features are to watch out for here. Recently some leaked images were doing the rounds on the internet which suggest that the phone will have 2 GHz octa-core processor, 12MP fast focus camera and 3000 mAh Quickcharge battery. Although Lenovo hasn’t always used MWC to launch its devices, we can expect this phone’s launch in MWC 2017 because the leaks are already dominating the gossip world.

3. Huawei P10

The Company sent out press invitations for its launch. However, there is much confusion because Huawei Mate 9 Pro might also unveil. Then there is a possibility for Huawei watch 2 to appear. P10 will have curved glass and high-end camera according to rumors. Also, the rumors suggest that the higher-end variant will have 6GB RAM to support 128GB memory. Also, the prices will range between $728 and $828.

4. Sony Xperia X

Everyone knows how Sony likes to launch products at the MWC. Following its trend, it might release Xperia X in MWC 2017. In fact, some are saying that the company could announce up to five devices at the event. Sony has scheduled the press conference for Monday, 27th February. So we will tell you what it does till then. But since Sony has already moved to Xperia X family, there is certainly going to be an upgrade.

5. LG launches G6 at MWC 2017

LG has already started teasing elements of the next phone it is going to launch. It is talking about the batteries, what people might want and the display technology, slowly building a picture for the users. Hence LG G6 is expected to launch at MWC 2017. We might also get surprised LG smartwatches at this event. Whatever it is, LG is gearing up for the event and it is pretty prominent.

6. Blackberry Mercury

It has been a long time since we’ve seen a Blackberry release. Now it’s time for Blackberry to hit the market. The phone will feature a physical QWERTY keyboard and fingerprint sensor – according to the prototype pictures. Touch and type might also be available, but the phone will run on Android. Mercury unveiled a long time ago on the internet and therefore with the 25th February press conference, we are sure this news is coming forward.

7. HTC Ocean

We have already seen HTC’s U Ultra – which is a glass giant of sorts, but that is not the flagship it is unveiling at MWC 2017. It is going to be HTC Ocean. It won’t have a single physical button just voice command and gestures apparently. The pictures of the flagship are doing the rounds and it suggests that there will be touch sensitive zones around the phone.

8. Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

Note 7 fiasco has cost Samsung a lot. Hence it’s playing it safe this year by launching Galaxy Tab S3 this month at the MWC. The tablet is rumored to have Snapdragon 820 chip supported by 4GB RAM. There will be 32/64GB internal support. The battery power is not known yet. We get a picture that it could have a 12MP rear camera and 5MP front sensor.
