Apple’s New iPhone 7 And 8 May Get Wireless Charger And 3D Touch

Our TNI reporters have stated almost each and every single detail about the iPhone 7 and 8 for you. If you have a look at our previous articles, you will know anything and everything about the iPhone 7 and 8 versions. As we all know, Apple continues to surprise us with new features now and then. The coming iPhone 7 and 8 versions will have wireless charging facility.

The two updated version of iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 will finally offer you the long awaited feature. The report comes from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has a track record of being correct with iPhone predictions.

OLED display and 3D touch sensors

The new iPhone 7 and 8 models will come this year. The two iPhone 7 models will be in 4.7 inches, and 5.5 inches and the iPhone 8 will come in 5.8 inches. These three phones will also support the 3D touch facility and an OLED display. The 3D touch allows users to press harder on an icon to launch certain actions like replying to messages or animations instead of just selecting applications. This feature was already out in the market from some time with iPhone 7 devices. Kuo also expects that the iPhone 8 might come in all glass body with flexible and thinner form factor.

Overheating issue with wireless charging

There is a problem of overheating with the wireless charging of devices. Thus, the iPhone 7 and 8 will come with an OLED display and glass casing to get the 3D touch module. It will also have an “additional graphite sheet lamination” to prevent it from overheating. According to research notes of Kuo, [quotes quotes_style=”bquotes” quotes_pos=”center”]While we don’t expect general users to notice any difference, lamination of an additional graphite sheet is needed for better thermal control and, thus, steady operation; this is because FPCB is replaced with film, which is more sensitive to temperature change of the 3D touch sensor in OLED iPhone.[/quotes]

Price of iPhone 7 and 8 might increase

Now, all these facilities can increase the cost of iPhone 7 and 8 to at least 30% to 50% high. Thus, the cost will be around $1000. It is not the first time that there is news about Apple iPhone will have wireless charging. Last year too, HIS predicted that Apple would bring the wireless charging. The wireless charging facility was introduced three years ago by Lumia 920. And then Samsung launched dual mode wireless charging service on Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

The different wireless charging options

There are three primary wireless charging options available in the industry. First is the “loosely coupled” approach where the handsets can be several centimeters away from the charging point. Second is the “uncoupled” charging technology where you can power up the device with Wi-Fi across a room. Apple will use its “inductive wireless charging” facility. The inductive wireless charging service started with Apple watch in 2015. But this service will need a direct contact with the charging device and an accurate positioning on charging pad.

[New Update]

New rumors and reports suggest that only Apple iPhone 8 versions may get wireless charging facility. All the coming new iPhone 7, 7s and 7s Plus will lack wireless charging due to aluminum design that Apple started to use since the launch of iPhone 6 in 2014.
