Samsung is going to take a significant step in enhancing processing speeds, LTE performance to make Samsung mobile phones better. For this, the company is going to bring Samsung Exynos 9 chip. It is also called the Exynos 9 series 8895. The chip will perform 27% than the previous version, and it will also consume 40% lesser power.
The Samsung Exynos 9 chip for Samsung phones is the first attempt of the company to support the Gigabit LTE. Samsung shifted to a 10nm process for this chip series. It means, Samsung is just behind Qualcomm to shift to a 10nm process from 14nm. The Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC also uses the 10nm process, and it offers a power reduction of 25%.
Samsung Exynos 9 chip- a better performer than Qualcomm?
Both the chips of Qualcomm and Samsung can be equal performers, though; Samsung’s chip might offer better power reduction. Right now, we cannot say which one of the chips will emerge out to be the better one. On the LTE part, Samsung is pretty confident that it is capable of offering 1Gbps in the download speeds and also 150 Mbps in the upload speeds.
It is much better than anything you will get while using the phone that has got SoC. It means a faster speed. Samsung will get higher speeds by adding up four to five carrier aggregation. It is a carrier side tech update which means the phone will receive multiple data streams at once.
On the other hand, the Exynos 8895 has got an Octa-core processor, and the GPU will offer graphics improvement for 4K VR gaming. Samsung is of the opinion that the processor will support video recording at 120fps 4K and cameras that have a resolution of 28MP. There is support for dual camera setup that allows features like IPhone 7 portrait mode.
At present, the 8895 is in mass production. It means we are going to see it in a phone soon. Some reports say the next Samsung Mobile; Galaxy S8 might have the Samsung Exynos 9 chip. Samsung is looking to include the Snapdragon chips in Galaxy Samsung cell phones for the US and Europe. And they will include the Exynos chips for the mobiles of Asia.
