As we all know that Apple Inc is set to globally launch its latest iPhone 8 on 12th September and interestingly, it will coincide with the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Both Apple and Samsung smartphone will compete in the India market touch, but the prices will be the deciding factor as to which will able to be a successful product in the country. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will feature the same S Pen, which we have seen in the Samsung Note devices along with new features.
The new Note 8 will come with a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED Infinity display with a resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. The screen is said to be non-scratchable as it will have Corning Gorilla Glass with 5 layers that will scratch only at Moh level 6 hardness. The Apple iPhone 8, on the other hand, will have a smaller display of a 5.8-inch but for the first time, it will feature 2.5D OLED edge-to-edge display. Apple, this time, will remove the Home button from its iPhone 8 and is expected to have a new ‘all-glass’ construction that will measure 71x143x7.4 mm.
The Samsung’s Android handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and in India, it is expected to get the Exynos processor. The iOS 11 on the Apple’s latest device will feature peer-to-peer Apple Pay and a revised Control Centre that will get do not disturb feature when the phone is put on the driving mode.
Samsung will also equip the new Note 8 with a dual 12-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8-megapixel camera at the front. The Apple iPhone 8 will get vertically placed dual rear camera with OIS. The phone’s camera will also be used to identify the face as it will get facial recognition technology to unlock the device. The front camera will feature 3D-sensing capabilities that could be used to determine depth and location of objects in a 3D space for augmented reality applications.
Going by the leaked information about the iPhone 8, it will get wireless charging, augmented reality directions, rear-facing Touch ID sensor, faster A11 processor and much more. It is expected that the price of the Apple iPhone 8 will be very costly than the iPhone 7 due to its premium features. It is anticipated to be priced around Rs 90,000. The Note 8, on the other hand, is expected to be priced around Rs 70,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs 75,000 for the 128GB variant. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will also be the most expensive smartphone till date.
Both phones are highly-anticipated in the India market and have their own new and advanced features. The pre-registrations for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are already open at the official Samsung India website and the prices will be announced only during the time of its launch.
