Tesla Cars Might Come In One Price Including Maintenance And Insurance Costs

Telsa has done what no other company has thought of earlier – proving once again why they are the visionaries in the tech and electronics sphere. They are offering a one price package including the price of the car. Along with it the purchasers in Asia will also get maintenance and insurance. This means Tesla cars will now come with an all-inclusive package.

Tesla cars to come with in-house insurance?

For doing this Tesla, motors may partner with local insurance companies, but they have thought about handling insurance in-house as well. Jeff Evanson, Tesla VP of Global Investor Relations went on to explain
[quotes quotes_style=”bquotes” quotes_pos=”center”]We’re currently doing that. We’ve been doing it quietly, but in Asia in particular where we started this. Now the majority of Tesla cars are sold with an insurance product that is customized to Tesla. That takes into account not only the Autopilot safety features but also the maintenance costs of the car. It’s our vision in the future that we’ll be able to offer a single price for the car, maintenance, and insurance in a compelling offering for the consumer. And we’re currently doing that today.[/quotes]
Although the company is thinking about its insurance services, it might not jump into that right now. At present, the company thinks that the regular insurance companies are not meeting the demands of Tesla Motors.

Elon Musk explains

[quotes quotes_style=”bquotes” quotes_pos=”center”]This is not to the exclusion of insurance providers if we find that insurance providers are not matching the insurance proportionate to the risk of the car. If we need to, we’ll in-source it, but I think we’ll find that insurance partners do adjust rates proportionate to the risk of a Tesla.[/quotes]
Tesla Motors also believe that it is the unique safety precautions of the vehicle that leaves it to negotiate such a deal. It just leaves one to wonder what the price of the model will be. Model 3 which was tagged as “affordable earlier” cost a whopping $35,000. Add to it the cost of maintenance and insurance, and you have a higher deal. Will it be popular in Asia and will other companies follow suit? That remains to be seen.
