Xiaomi has teased on Twitter that they are going to launch Xiaomi Mi Note 2 on October 25. The Chinese manufacturer also shared that the phone will have a two-sided curved display on it. Furthermore, the event will be live streamed on Facebook at 11:30 IST.
Display and Design
According to previous rumors, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 was going to feature a thin flat-screen with an edge to edge screen just like previous generation Mi Note. But now it’s officially confirmed by Xiaomi that they are going to have a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution two-sided curve display on Mi Note 2. In addition to that, it will be having Force Touch on it. If we go for the screen, then it will be a suitable alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. S7 Edge also features two-sided curved AMOLED display. If rumors are true, it will have a metal and glass design as it was in Xiaomi Mi 5.
The rumor further suggests that the phone will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor under the hood. It will have Adreno 530 GPU on board. Mi Note 2 will be available in two variants. One will be with 4GB of RAM and 64GB ROM, and another one will be with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is expected that 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM model will be available for $415 (approx Rs 27,700) and the 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM model will be available for $445 (approx Rs 29,700). But according to a new report, the device will be available for 5699 Yuan (approx Rs 56,000).
According to Playfuldroid report, they suggested that the phone might feature a dual-rear camera setup. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have a 23MP and a 12MP rear-facing snapper with dual tone LED flash. For selfie, Xiaomi will provide an 8MP front-facing snapper. Both camera module will support 4-axis OIS. It will also have laser auto-focus module for fast focusing. It will be able to record 4k video at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps.
UI and Battery
All the Xiaomi phones in the market come with Android OS with MIUI on top of it. We can expect Xiaomi will launch Mi Note 2 with Android 7.0 Nougat OS with the latest version of MIUI on top of it. When it comes to battery backup, Xiaomi hasn’t disappointed us in the past. If we go with rumors, it will have a 4100mAh Li-Po battery. Furthermore, it will support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.
Other Features of Xiaomi Mi Note 2
For security, the phone will have an IRIS scanner just like the one we had in Samsung Galaxy Note 7. It will also have a fingerprint scanner. The phone will come with dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.2 (low power). Other features include geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama while the technical features include the accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass.
